Choral Conductor

Mr. Ruddell has conducted choirs in British Columbia for twenty-five years.

Herbert Drost Award- British Columbia Choral Federation’s prestigious award for distinguished service and support of choral music in British Columbia.

Mr. Ruddell founded and conducted the sixty-voice mixed choir Tuned Air for eighteen years. The choir enjoyed tremendous community success and touring success which resulted in national recognition on  CBC Radio’s  Canada Live when they were recorded in concert with famed singer Leon Bibb.  The concert was titled: The Art Of  The Spiritual. Another highlight for Tuned Air was the invitation from Montreal’s L’Ensemble Musica Viva to participate in a tour of Quebec and to share the stage with them in Montreal.

Mr. Ruddell composed and conducted a twenty-minute work commissioned by the International Educators Conference. A Song Of Life was performed by 300 singers and a chamber orchestra at the opening of the conference in North Vancouver B.C.

Mr. Ruddell conducted many concerts of  Terri-Lynn Williams-Davidson’s New Journeys CD including a headline Canada Day concert on the Legislature lawn in Victoria, BC. Other concerts were held in  Vancouver and on Haida Gwaii.

Mr. Ruddell conducted The Sooke Community Choir for six seasons. The choir enjoyed great success in Sooke and Victoria where the choir was asked to lead thousands in O Canada on the legislature stage on July 1.

Mr. Ruddell conducted Victoria’s Crystal Singers for a full season.

Mr. Ruddell has conducted numerous music theatre projects in Vancouver, Victoria, and Charlottetown.
